The Recovery Training Institute (RTI) hosted a 1-hour session exploring the unique role peer support plays in recovery and how it complements the work of recovery coaches, clinicians, treatment providers, families, and community organizations.
The session looked at how lived experience, hope, belonging, encouragement, and accountability can help individuals remain engaged in recovery. It also considered the boundaries, safety practices, and respect for individual choice needed for peer support to remain ethical and effective.
