Uniting Recovery Communities was an inspiring event hosted by the Recovery Training Institute of Alberta (RTIA) and featured special guest Dr. George De Leon, a globally recognized expert in addiction recovery and pioneer of the Therapeutic Community model.
Dr. De Leon shared decades of research and insight into the transformative impact of Therapeutic Communities worldwide. His work helped shape the Alberta Recovery Community model and continues to influence recovery systems across the globe.
The event invited attendees to:
• Learn from a leading authority on the Therapeutic Community model
• Explore the role of recovery communities within Alberta’s Recovery-Oriented System of Care
• Tour the Lakeview Recovery Community facility
• Connect with others dedicated to community-based recovery
This event at Lakeview Recovery Community offered a meaningful opportunity to deepen understanding, strengthen relationships, and celebrate the existing and emerging Recovery Communities in Alberta.
